*Will update as time goes on in this blog*
Crystal Scott, 23, was driving to Chase bank, where she worked, Monday morning September 17, 2012. Jonathan Ables was also driving to his work as a valve tech for oil field equipment with a co-worker as his passenger that same morning.
Scott told deputies she and Ables had been cutting each other off. After they hit and both pulled in to the gas station, Scott said Ables walked up to her car yelling and beating on her window. She claims he grabbed for her door, and that fearing for her life, she grabbed her gun and opened fire.
Shell Gas Station

Here’s just my guess at the trajectory of the bullet
“He was attempting to open (Scott’s) car door while striking the driver’s side window,” said Thomas Gilliland, a Harris County sheriff’s deputy.
Judging by this angle he must have had some really long arms.
Wouldn’t it be something if she signed the petition for Trayvon? I doubt this is her though.
Judging from the videos I believe this is where they were parked. There are street cameras I have marked as well as their direction.
There look to be three cameras on the outside of the main building though it’s difficult from the photo quality to be sure.
UPDATE: I have been told that there is only one camera outside which is in the first photo below that faces towards the car wash. The car wash is boarded up as I have been told as well which makes me wonder if that camera was even running. It’s doubtful the Shell Gas Station cameras caught anything then but perhaps the street cameras caught something, perhaps at least some of the interaction they had while driving. Hopefully the cops do their jobs and look for other video from possible other cameras from other businesses. Thank You mystery commentator.
Witness 2; Civilian: Was getting gas, bullet ricochet off a car, whizzed by him, he was about 15 – 20 feet away from where the shooting happened, believes Jonathan was not yelling or banging on window because the only thing that drew his attention was the gunshot
Witness 3; Unknown: The Harris County Sheriff’s Office says at least one eyewitness gave a statement consistent with Scott’s claim that Ables had been aggressive in some manner
Is this the same Crystal Scott?

Crystal Jana Scott was released from custody, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office. A bond of $200 was set for Mrs. Scott, who is listed as living at 338 Spell in Houston (77022). Scott was reportedly arrested on 4 charges, including improper change of lanes, failure to signal lane change, expired inspection certificate and driving with expired registration.
Well, whaddya know…
NAACP Member rushes to aid Scott
Bishop James Dixon travels to Sanford, Florida to join other social justice advocates including Rev. Al Sharpton of National Action Network, Marc Morial of the National Urban League and NAACP leaders.
On Thursday, March 22, 2012, Bishop James Dixon will be traveling to Sanford, Florida to join other social justice advocates…
Bishop James Dixon was recently appointed Chairman of Religious Affairs of the Texas NAACP
Bishop Dixon recently introduced a new campaign to area leaders, Be Your Brother’s Keeper, Not Your Brother’s Killer. The purpose is to promote the concept of brotherhood within and across lines of race, and to discourage violence by promoting the sanctity of human life.http://www.prweb.com/releases/2012/3/prweb9318779.htm
Apparently if you beat someone about the head and face it’s okay it but if you hit their car you can expect to end up dead.
I don’t know about this woman yet, still looking. How was she at the scene so quickly? Did she come with Dixon?
There’s too little information so far given to say for sure what happened. He could have been pissed off and approached her in an aggressive manner, she could have been pissed off and just shot him or somewhere in between. I’m thinking there had to have been at least two shots because one flew by the civilian and grazed a car and another hits Ables but judging from the window it only looks like one shot went through it. Did she get out of the car and shoot again?
Jonathan Ables (22)
Stepfather: Kyle P Aucoin Sr
Mother: Charlene C Aucoin
Fiance: Evelyn Bautista
Sister in Law: ?
I now know the approximate, location, direction and distance of the body. I may have to correct this a bit later but this appears to be close, again, this is an approximation. Here is a representation of the location.
Only two things can explain how his body is there in relation to her car. She was quoted as saying that Jonathan was beating on her car window and she shot so either 1) He ran after a shot when off and/or after being shot 2) Her car was moved after the shooting.
UPDATE: It has occurred to me that this may have not been mentioned but Jonathan died at the scene and was left there for some time, I have an idea as to how long but won’t say right now. Also, some folks have mentioned other possibilities as to his body location. 1) That she shot as he approached the vehicle 2) That someone moved the body. The first two scenarios I gave were going off of the statement that he was hitting her car window. Also, it’s hard for me to imagine anyone moving the body unless it was an emergency that he ought to be moved after dying but I suppose there could be a possibility that someone moved him before cops showed up.
Someone has started a Change.org petition and a Facebook page in the name of Jonathan Ables. The Change.org petition, while perhaps well intended, is in my opinion horribly phrased. I do not consider this a murder. This is a homicide. It is only after an investigation that a prosecutor can declare what they believe this homicide to be in accordance with the law. There also should not be an immediate arrest unless the police have determined probable cause for an arrest. The demand should be, just as I have become so accustomed to hearing in the Zimmerman case, simple justice.
Judging from what I have seen and read so far of Jonathan’s family though, I believe they won’t be active in seeking simple justice. I get the feeling they are not that dissimilar from the Zimmerman’s, including George, in their faith in the system and that truth will just be revealed. If the Zimmerman case has taught me anything it’s that such positions are naive. One thing that already has me disturbed is that it was reported the day of the shooting that it was decided this case was going to a grand jury. That reeks of aversion to me on part of the prosecutor. So if anything should be demanded it’s that the police and prosecutor do their jobs and thoroughly investigate this case despite outside pressures by the likes of the NAACP and such.
The mother of Jonathan Ables and his fiance are asking for support in assuring that proper justice is served in the homicide of her son.
What’s important to understand is that a NAACP member, who fought for justice for Trayvon, was at the scene of the Ables shooting very quickly in support of the shooter. It was also reported on the day of the shooting that a grand jury would hear the case. How could the prosecutor make such a decision so quickly? This needs to be properly and thoroughly investigated.
