It Happened in Sanford, Again!

First let me apologize for the title that may have caused you to think another Zimmerman/Martin like scenario has actually occurred. The intent was not to deceive but to grab your attention and get you to think. Though in reality I don’t know currently of any scenario that may be like the Zimmerman/Martin case, another scenario like it can very well happen at any time not only in Sanford itself but in Anywhere, U.S.A. But let’s stay in Sanford and let’s say another Zimmerman/Martin like scenario actually occurs. The the question is, what happens then?

I take the question seriously and I think of it in racial terms because that’s just how the Scheme Team wants me to think of it. The question then becomes what happens when a “white” person, rightly, wrongly, questionably, whatever your personal opinion may be, defends themselves from a black person and it results in the black persons death? The laws are currently the same, which means there may not be an immediate arrest; will black people protest? The prosecutor, Norm Wolfinger, remains currently as the State Attorney, will he again cite “In the interest of the public safety of the citizens of Seminole County and to avoid even the appearance of a conflict of interest…” and ask for Angela Corey to come back in and do his job for him? There is however a different police chief. What will he do? Will he unlike Bill Lee just arrest this next “George Zimmerman” outright to avoid the trouble? And if he doesn’t will the City Manager Norton Bonaparte fire him? Or will he, like Wolfinger and Lee try to runaway? These are very real questions the citizens of Sanford and Seminole County have to ask themselves. These are very real questions we all have to ask ourselves.

We can reverse this racially and the response will be that the black person would be arrested right away but the Daniel Adkins case, although in a different city, shows us otherwise. But let’s ask those same questions as if this next “George Zimmerman” is black. What will Wolfinger do then? If he charges this black person right away will black people see this as hypocrisy and again protest? I’m guessing he will say “In the interest of the public safety of the citizens of Seminole County and to avoid even the appearance of a conflict of interest…” and ask Corey to come in and do his job for him. Will Bonaparte fire the police chief if he tries to get an arrest right away? Again, these are very real questions the citizens of Sanford and Seminole County have to ask themselves. These are very real questions we all have to ask ourselves.

Let’s not forget that virtually nothing was known about this case when the machine was wound up to begin protesting. All that really mattered was that a “white” person killed a black person and ten days had passed without an arrest and so the first mainstream article was printed and here we are today. Given that; what will any Police Chief, City Manager, State Attorney, Mayor, Governor, of any color in any city and State do from now on? I don’t know, but if there’s anything I’ve learned from the Zimmerman/Martin case it’s that these are the questions that matter to me and I would hope matter to you.
